*****Watch the water research demonstration at Conservation Point in Lakeside Park's
harbor area on Sunday , June 21st during the afternoon. This is one activity scheduled for
invasive species.

Waterway Stewards is a membership program whose goal is to
protect and enhance our local waters by educating its members
and others about Lake Winnebago's formation, its natural history,
and the history and cultures of the people of the Lake; by
educating  ourselves and others about threats to the system; by
developing and enacting plans to protect and enhance our waters,
and by cooperating with and encouraging participation in
like-minded groups.

Waterway Stewards can educate the public about invasive
species and how to protect our system from them. We can work
to develop cleaning stations for boats and their trailers. We can
help groups that clear trash from our waters. We can work to rid
Supple Marsh of the invasive grass that threatens it. We can use
the Paddle, Power and Sail fleet to help youths and adults and
other groups do research on runoff, water quality and other water
issues. We can use our fleet to engage local grade school, high
school, college, and university students in exciting science
projects relating to our waters and open their eyes to potential
water-related careers.
