PADDLE, POWER and SAIL
                               Lake Winnebago

             For Pleasure and Purpose

In 2007, National Geographic's Adventure magazine named
Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, one of the top 50 Adventure Towns in
the United States, "where you can live the adventure dream
daily." One adventure that eludes many area residents and
visitors is the adventure of boating on Lake Winnebago for
pleasure and purpose.
Paddle, Power and Sail Lake
Winnebago
is committed to providing opportunities for adults,
youth and children, regardless of ethnicity, gender, income,
race, or mental or physical challenge, to boat safely on Lake
Winnebago "for pleasure and purpose".

The
"pleasure" is obvious. What is the "purpose"?
The answer is multiple:

To engage in an active outdoor lifestyle,
To develop an awareness of and commitment to safe boating,
To learn physical and mental skills which can be used over a
  lifetime,
To develop confidence through facing challenges,
To build strong family and community bonds,
To explore the geology of our glacial Lake,
To understand the history and cultures of the people of the Lake,
To celebrate our good fortune in inheriting our Lake, and
To appreciate our Lake and work to protect it.
